Amazing nonya meal, the curry fish head was really delicious
My buddies and i had a good time at the National Day dinner. The ambience was great and cozy. I enjoyed the yummy perankan spread (6 course in generous portion) in particular the starter archar, ngoh hiang, sambal prawns with the fragrant blue butterfly pea flower rice and the finishing touch of pulut hitam with longan!
Attended their National Day dinner where a Peranakan menu was offered. It was a cosy gathering and we appreciated the fact that they organised a small quiz which boosted the party atmosphere. The ayam buah keluak dish was delicious! The chef said that the buah keluak was cooked whole which probably accounts for the robust flavour. The fish head curry came in a very generous portion and the pulut hitam dessert which was cooked with longan was rich and yummy.
Feastbox came in a nice packaging, it was like receiving a present. My family have a great time enjoying the food, and we loved it. We will order again next time !
This power couple can really whip up a great meal. Everything was prefect and delivered on time , the fish head was still warm but I like it very hot so I heat it up for 2 mins on microwave and it turned out great. The dessert is lovely and certainly makes the whole meal meal complete. It was a wonderful experience . I will definitely recommend esseplore.cooking to friends.

The food is elegantly packed and we were pleasantly surprised to have the curry fish head served in a claypot! I love the curry fish head the most! It is spicy, aromatic and tangy. The gravy goes well with the fragrant “blue hue” rice! The sambal prawn was fantastic too! Simply love the sambal sauce! It’s yummy! I haven’t tasted such a good Pulut Hitam for a while! The strong flavours of gula melaka and dried longan complete the richness of this dessert! You must definitely taste it to know what I am talking about! Thank you, CHEF ALAN & CHRISTINA!
